Sodalite’s Blue Lantern World

Deep navy and medium blue give this sodalite a rich, shadowy character, threaded with fine pale-blue and white lines. Broader white bands interrupt the dense crossings, while ridges, small pits and projecting corners make the surface wonderfully uneven. Bright highlights catch the raised edges; the recesses hold their darker blue.

In a small imagined world, lanterns drift through a navy sky, their light tracing delicate routes between darker islands. The stone’s intersecting lines suggest those wandering paths, each one turning toward a white band or a bright, lifted corner.
