Serpentine’s Green Ridges and Shadowed Hollows

Pale yellow-green opens into deeper olive across this serpentine, interrupted by dark grey and black streaks and patches. Scattered whitish and light grey flecks add lighter notes to its mottled surface. Small bright highlights catch on the raised areas, while the crevices hold darker shadows, giving the colours a rhythm that follows the ridges and grooves.

Its broad lower portion rises to a narrower, uneven top, with angular faces and a craggy outline that suggest a miniature landscape. In an imagined luminous cavern, those pale greens might become walls lit from within, the darker markings tracing rocky passages.
