Onyx’s Layered Landscape
Pale yellow-green, white and warm orange-brown give this onyx a richly layered character. Closely spaced brown bands sit alongside irregular white markings, while fine lines trace the uneven surface. Bright highlights catch the ridges, bringing their rough contours into focus against the softer shadows.
The colours suggest a small, imagined river valley: pale green terraces, white-edged banks and darker brown slopes. Across the irregular outline, that landscape never becomes tidy or predictable; a ridge catches the light, and the eye finds another fine line to follow.
