Lazurite – XXS

Lazurite’s Bright Blue Mosaic

Blue takes the lead in these lazurite pieces, interrupted by irregular white and pale grey patches and streaks. The mottling gives the colour a changing rhythm, with lighter marks drawing the eye across surfaces that look smooth and reflective.

Some outlines are triangular, others elongated or roughly rectangular. Angular corners mingle with rounded ones, giving the chip-like forms plenty of variation. Bright reflections catch across the surfaces, a crisp contrast to the vivid blue.

The markings might suggest a tiny landscape seen from above, where pale paths cross bold blue ground. Look a little longer and the colours become shapes of their own: a white streak, a grey patch, an unexpected turn of blue.
