Fluorite’s Green and Lilac Light
Pale green, light lilac and deeper purple mingle in this fluorite bracelet, with nearly colourless beads adding a delicate interval between the colours. Smooth, glossy rounds trace an oval around an open centre. Bright white highlights catch their surfaces, while cloudy patches and fine speckled patterns give the translucent interiors a softer, more intricate character.
Fluorite also has a place in the language of light: the word “fluorescence” was coined in 1852 from fluorspar, another name for fluorite. That small piece of history adds a different kind of interest to its shifting palette.
