Crystal Geode Big closed – 9-13cm

Soft shades, rugged contours

The Big Closed Crystal Geode has a softly coloured but rugged presence. Pale beige, off-white and light grey mingle with tan patches across its uneven surface. Bright light catches the upper and front faces, while small pits and narrow crevices hold darker shadows. Its broadly rounded outline is interrupted by bulbous protrusions, giving the piece a wonderfully irregular silhouette.

The closed exterior has a small landscape of its own, with grainy ridges, rounded forms and narrow hollows. It might bring to mind low hills in a pale meadow, where tan patches interrupt the lighter ground and little recesses gather shade. Follow those contours and there is always another quiet detail to notice.
