✨ What makes Shungite special?
- Its carbon is structurally unusual: Shungite contains predominantly disordered, non-graphitic carbon organised into small curved and fragmented domains.
- Its properties vary from piece to piece: carbon percentage, mineral matrix and porosity influence hardness, lustre, weight, polish and electrical conductivity.
- Its varieties can look dramatically different: high-carbon vein material may be brittle and metallic, while common carving rough is usually matte black and richer in silica.
