Citrine — stored sunlight, clear intention and abundance built through action

Citrine is the yellow-to-orange variety of crystalline Quartz, coloured by iron-related centres within its structure. Its palette stretches from pale lemon and golden yellow to honey, amber and deep Madeira orange-brown. Natural Citrine is comparatively uncommon; much of the material available today is Amethyst transformed into warm golden shades through carefully controlled heat treatment.

✨ What makes Citrine special?

  • Sunlit Quartz: iron and colour centres absorb selected wavelengths of light, leaving Citrine with its characteristic yellow and orange glow.
  • Broad golden palette: stones may appear softly lemon-coloured, bright gold, warm honey or richly orange-brown.
  • Everyday durability: Quartz combines attractive clarity with a hardness suitable for pendants, bracelets, earrings and carefully worn rings.

🔮 Citrine magic

  • Abundance-building magic: Citrine is traditionally kept nearby when an idea must be transformed into useful work, steady progress and something that can grow.
  • Clear-intention enchantment: its golden light can represent choosing one meaningful direction instead of scattering effort across too many possibilities.
  • Inner-sun ritual: often chosen as a reminder that confidence may be practised through action until it begins to feel like a natural source of light.

💫 Golden lore and care

“Madeira Citrine” describes a rich orange-brown colour rather than a guaranteed origin. Many Citrine clusters and geodes are heat-treated Amethyst, while Ametrine contains naturally joined purple Amethyst and yellow Citrine zones within the same Quartz crystal.

Citrine measures 7 on the Mohs scale and has no cleavage, although it remains brittle enough to chip under a sharp impact. Clean it with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Avoid steam, sudden temperature changes and prolonged intense light, which may weaken the stone or alter some colours.

Keep Citrine nearby when possibility needs more than hopeful thought. Let its golden light remind you that abundance is often created quietly—through attention protected, skills developed and one useful action repeated until it begins to shine.

Hold the sunlight. Build what can grow.
