Sodalite’s River of Blue
Deep blue runs through this sodalite bracelet, broken by lighter blue, pale grey and whitish mottling. The rounded oval beads carry both streaks and softer patches, so the colour shifts from one bead to the next. Smooth, glossy surfaces catch bright white highlights, giving the richly patterned blue a crisp counterpoint.
Sodalite is closely related to lazurite, the blue mineral that gives lapis lazuli its characteristic colour. In a small daydream, the bracelet’s roughly circular loop becomes a river bending back on itself, with pale currents threading through darker water. Each rounded bead holds a different part of that imagined journey, its mottled markings like swirls caught between the river’s bends.
