Selenite’s Moonlit Edges
White and pale grey give this selenite stick a delicate glow, with translucent-looking areas interrupting the milky colour. Bright, silvery-white highlights follow its long, narrow outline. Look closer and the surface becomes more intricate: fine parallel lines, visible ridges and uneven steps give the pale shape a distinctly textured character.
Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek moon goddess, a reference to the pale, moon-like reflection it can show. That connection offers a lovely way to read the light here—not as a smooth wash, but as brightness gathered along individual lines and ledges.
A small moonlit cove might live in those details: pale cliffs, a slender shore and silver tracing the edges. The blunt, irregular ends lend this imagined landscape its rugged outline, with each stepped ridge becoming a tiny terrace of light.
