A little blush in the morning light

Rose quartz XXL draws the eye with soft blush pink, cloudy paler areas and fine pale lines. Rounded oval contours give the pictured examples a gentle outline, while their smooth-looking surfaces catch bright reflections. Some appear more translucent than others, offering different glimpses of light within the pink.

Rose quartz beads from ancient Mesopotamia have been dated to around 7000 BCE. It is a lovely detail to hold alongside the stone’s appearance: this crystal family was being shaped into small ornaments so many centuries ago.
