Rose Quartz, a Ring of Soft Light

This rose quartz donut pendant brings pale pink and milky white into a softly rounded ring. Cloudy mottling and faint, irregular streaks give its surface gentle variation, while broad white highlights brighten the glossy finish. The circular opening lends a clear, simple outline to the cloudlike colour.

Rose quartz beads from ancient Mesopotamia date to around 7000 BCE. There is something moving about that long history of adornment: people were drawn to this stone thousands of years ago, shaping it into small objects to wear.

In a small imagined seascape, those milky patches become islands floating in rose-coloured water. The faint streaks suggest a hazy distance, and the pendant’s central opening becomes a little window through the scene.
