Warm rust and wandering shadows
Reddish brown and rust orange give the Mahogany obsidian palmstone a warm, earthy palette. Irregular black patches, speckles and streaks interrupt the colour, while bright white reflections curve across its smooth, glossy surface. The rounded outline and gently domed face soften the contrast between dark markings and light.
Obsidian is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools rapidly, leaving little opportunity for crystals to grow. That small discovery adds another layer of interest to the palmstone’s glossy, pebble-like appearance.
In a small imagined botanical garden, the black markings become winding paths between rust-coloured terraces. A white reflection becomes a sunlit border along a rounded wall, with another terrace waiting just beyond the bend.
