Labradorite Drop, a River of Colour
Grey-green and olive tones shade this Labradorite Drop pendant, opening into patches of blue, turquoise and yellow-green. Irregular dark lines thread through fine speckled mottling, giving the face a richly varied texture beneath its smooth gloss. Bright white highlights catch the broad, rounded surface.
Labradorite’s coloured flashes are called labradorescence.
Narrower at the top, the elongated drop has a gentle, flowing outline. Its colours suggest an imagined terraced river: turquoise pools held between olive banks, with yellow-green shallows catching the light. Across this little landscape, the darker lines could be winding channels joining one pool to the next.
