Garnet – XXS. Garnet is the birthstone for January. The name “garnet” comes from the Latin word “Garanatus” which means “seed-like” or “Granatum” which means pomegranate. It is known for its red color but in fact garnet comes in a variety of colors. According to the Talmud, the only light on Noah's ark was provided by a large Garnet. In crusades, garnet was served as a talisman and warrior stones and it was worn by both crusaders and the Muslims. In Europe during the middle ages, Garnet was used to enhance truth, faith and constancy, and to dispel sorrow and sadness. It expands one's awareness due to the flash of lightning contained within it. Garnet intensifies internal fire to bring creative powers to the wearer.
