Crazy Lace Agate’s Islands of Colour

Warm cream and pale yellow move through this crazy lace agate pendant, meeting grey, pink and mauve in closely spaced waves. Orange and red bands bring brighter notes, while fine reddish lines trace delicate routes alongside rounded, mottled patches.

The broad doughnut shape gathers these shifting patterns around a round central opening. Its rounded outer edge gives the intricate markings a simple outline, while bright white highlights cross the smooth, glossy face, adding flashes of light to the softer colours.

The markings might suggest an imaginary archipelago, with pale islands and winding shores picked out in pink and red. At the centre, the round opening becomes a little sea of its own, surrounded by waves held still in stone.
