Chrysocolla: A Canopy of Blue and Green
Chrysocolla draws the eye with turquoise-blue and blue-green, broken by pale cream patches, rusty-brown flecks and dark grey markings. The surfaces look smooth and glossy, catching bright highlights along their curves. Colour shifts from broad pools to fine speckles and branching lines, so the blue never feels like a single, even shade.
Rounded, irregular outlines give these stones a pebble-like character, with shapes ranging from broadly triangular to softly rectangular and oval. There are two different rhythms here: gentle curves outside, wandering lines within. Their markings suggest an imagined canopy: blue-green leaves opening around pale gaps, with dark threads crossing underneath. A rusty-brown patch becomes its lone autumn leaf, held among the blue-green branches.
