Aventurine pendant – Square Donut 35mm

Aventurine’s Little Window of Green

Soft, pale green gives this Aventurine Square Donut pendant a gentle, leafy character. Cloudier patches of darker green drift across its smooth surface, interrupted by tiny dark and brownish specks. Bright white reflections skim the glossy face and edges, bringing crisp flashes of light to the rounded corners. Its open centre suggests a little window beneath an imagined canopy, with mottled greens gathering around the frame.

Aventurine’s name comes from an Italian expression meaning “by chance,” by way of the name given to glittering aventurine glass. That association lends a playful note to the pendant’s irregular patches and scattered flecks. There is a pleasing contrast here: colour that wanders softly, held within a square outline, with another small square opening through its heart.
