Sodalite’s Blue Terraces

Blue and pale-blue mottling gives this sodalite a lively, shifting surface. White and light-grey lines mingle with darker patches, while prominent charcoal areas add depth to its broadly block-like outline. Small bright highlights catch across the uneven surface; ridges, depressions and shadowed crevices give the colours a rugged setting.

In a small imagined garden, those ridges become blue terraces, threaded with pale paths and charcoal-shaded hollows. The colours suggest a landscape without smoothing away its wildness: light catches here and there, like a bright opening between the terraces.
