Bright highlights catch the faces of this selenite cube, giving its white and off-white tones a soft sheen. Pale grey areas add gentle variation, while a hint of translucency appears along the edges. Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek moon goddess, a reference to the pale, moon-like reflection it can show.
Look closer and fine parallel striations cross the faces, interrupted by cloudy patches and small surface irregularities. Softened corners and slightly uneven edges lend the square outline a less formal character: clear geometry with little interruptions to explore. In a small imagined garden, this could be a gateway shaped from moonlight, its pale surfaces traced with fine lines like the beginnings of climbing stems.
