Ruby with fuchsite pendant – 925 silver

Ruby with Fuchsite, Lit with Colour

Green and teal mingle across this ruby with fuchsite pendant, broken by pale flecks and light-coloured streaks. A purple-pink oval patch, surrounded by cream colouring, gives the mottled face a distinct focal point. Small bright highlights pick out the surface and the silver-coloured loop at the top, adding little flashes to a palette that is otherwise softly varied.

Its elongated, roughly rectangular outline softens at the corners and ends in an uneven curve. There is something appealing about that contrast: a simple silhouette holding a scattered world of colour. In an imagined scene of drifting lanterns, the cream-edged pink patch could be a single glow moving through green-blue dusk, its pale border keeping the little light distinct.
