Ruby Pendant, Islands in Deep Purple
Deep reddish-purple draws the eye into this ruby pendant, where black patches and pale flecks mingle across a glossy surface. Thin orange and gold-coloured lines cross the mottling, offering delicate contrasts to the darker areas. Bright white reflections catch on the curve, giving the colours a livelier edge without losing their deep, dusky character.
The irregular oblong outline, rounded at the ends, gives this little landscape a gently uneven boundary. There is something inviting about the contrast between the smooth-looking surface and the fine, intersecting detail across its pattern. In an imagined view from above, the black patches might become islands in a purple sea, with slender orange routes threading between them.
