Ruby’s Richly Shaded Shores
Ruby’s palette moves through dark purple, burgundy and pink-purple, interrupted by pale grey-white markings. Some areas appear almost blue-black, giving the brighter colours a deeper backdrop. Smooth-looking surfaces catch bright highlights, while darker faces and shadows bring the irregular forms into relief. Pale streaks, bands and small uneven patches invite a closer look at the changing colour.
The outlines range from rounded to block-like, with sloping sides meeting broad, flatter faces. In an imagined miniature seascape, these forms could be little islands, their dark shores lit by glints of reflected light. Ruby’s appeal here lies in those contrasts: a broad dark face beside a bright gleam, and a pale band crossing burgundy like a narrow moonlit channel.
