Rose Quartz – candlelight

Rose Quartz, a Little Garden of Pink

Cloudy white drifts through the pale pink of this rose quartz candle holder, with small cream-yellow patches breaking up the colour. Its chunky, uneven outline has angular edges and fine intersecting lines; bright highlights skim the rough outer faces, while the rounded opening holds a deeper shade.

Rose quartz beads from ancient Mesopotamia have been dated to around 7000 BCE. That glimpse of the stone in bead form offers a gentle contrast to the broad, rugged presence of this piece.

Its contours might suggest a miniature terraced garden, with pale stone paths stepping towards a sheltered centre. Within that imagined landscape, the comparatively smooth inner wall becomes a little courtyard enclosed by angular pink ledges. Use a suitable candle or LED light on a stable, heat-safe surface, away from flammable materials, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
