A small world of ember-red
Warm red and orange-red give the red jasper sphere pendant its glowing character. Fine dark speckles and irregular mottling interrupt the colour, while bright white highlights catch on the smooth, glossy surface. Around the centre, open silver-coloured curves leave glimpses of the stone between their bands.
Jasper is a decorative, very fine-grained form of quartz, and its colours can come from iron oxides. That subtle mineral texture makes a lovely contrast with this pendant’s bold colour and sharply reflected light.
There is something of a tiny sunset world here: an ember-red globe held within bright arcs, its darker flecks like distant shapes against a warm sky. The narrower band crossing the front draws a shining horizon across the sphere.
