Pyrite in Dolomite, a Little Landscape of Light
White and pale grey faces give pyrite in dolomite a soft brightness, broken by darker grey and brown lines. Small brown-speckled patches add a warmer note to the pale surfaces. Light catches the upper faces gently, contrasting with shaded contours.
Look closer and the texture becomes more pronounced: grainy areas, rough ridges and uneven contours offer plenty for the eye to follow. Upright, roughly triangular forms contrast with broader, flatter outlines. It is easy to picture a tiny stone garden here, its pale slopes crossed by narrow, dark paths. Those markings give the brightest faces their own intricate, irregular map.
