Labradorite: A Little River of Colour
Blue and turquoise shine out from the dark grey-brown of this Labradorite, joined by pale green, yellow, gold-coloured and orange patches. Glossy surfaces catch bright white highlights, while fine dark lines cross the colour like delicate, angular pathways.
The rounded, uneven, pebble-like forms offer a soft counterpoint to the intersecting markings across their surfaces.
The palette suggests an imagined river running over terraces: turquoise water, pale green shallows and a gold-orange bank. Against the darker stone, each bright patch feels like a small opening in the landscape, edged by those fine, crossing lines.
