A Heart of Gold and Shadow
Near-black and dark reddish-brown give this Iron Tiger Eye heart its deep, rich character. Golden-yellow and muted olive bands cross the visible surface, their fine linear markings adding delicacy to the darker colours. Light catches the curved face, bringing out its smooth, glossy surface.
In the tiger eye family, aligned fibrous inclusions create chatoyancy: the silky band of light that seems to move across a stone. That interplay of light and line is part of tiger eye’s fascination; this heart offers its own striking contrast of dark colour, bright bands and reflected glints.
