Hypersthene pendant – Donut 30mm

Hypersthene’s Dark Circle of Light

Dark brown and black give this hypersthene pendant a rich, shadowy character, warmed by areas of reddish brown. Fine pale grey streaks cross its glossy surface, with intersecting lines making a delicate pattern against the deeper colours. Broad white and cool grey reflections bring another kind of brightness: wide patches of light across the face and curved rim.

The rounded donut shape gathers these contrasts into a simple circle, with a thick edge framing the central opening. In an imagined landscape, its dark surface could become a pool traced with slender grey paths, pale light gathering along the banks. There is charm in the contrast between those intricate markings and the generous curve of the rim. At the centre, the opening makes a little window within the dark, glossy ring.
