Howlite’s Dolphin Tail, Caught in the Light
This howlite dolphin-tail pendant pairs a softly rounded outline with a bright, glossy surface. Irregular grey lines branch across the white, gathering into broader patches in places. Its rounded upper section widens into two spreading lobes, with repeated rounded notches tracing their lower edges.
Howlite takes its name from Henry How, the chemist and mineralogist who first described the mineral. Here, that human story meets a playful shape: pale stone, wandering grey markings and a tail poised as though just above water.
In an imagined cove beneath a scatter of stars, this tail could be the last glimpse of a dolphin slipping below the surface. Bright highlights lend the white a lively gleam, while each notch adds another curve to its watery silhouette.
