A Little Map in White: Howlite Keychain
Irregular grey lines wander across the white face of this howlite keychain, giving its broad, round disc a pattern like a small map with no marked destination. Rounded edges and a smooth-looking surface soften the outline, while bright highlights catch on the pale face.
The black strap brings a different kind of detail: fine-grained texture and visible creases against the disc’s lighter surface. At the other end, a silver-coloured split ring catches the light. There is a person behind the mineral’s name: Henry How, the chemist and mineralogist who first described howlite.
