Hematite’s Circle of Light
Dark grey, deepening towards near-black, gives this hematite ring its depth, while silvery-white highlights pick out the inner and outer edges. The smooth, glossy surface and gently rounded profile soften its clear circular shape. With no ornament to interrupt the plain band, the contrast between darkness and bright reflection becomes the character of the piece.
Here, the darker palette invites a small imagined nightscape—a circular pool with a narrow ribbon of moonlight tracing its rim. Light outlines the band on both sides, giving the open centre a presence of its own.
