Blue-Green Currents: Braided Fluorite Ring
The Braided Fluorite Ring draws the eye into a blue-green centre, where pale whitish patches and fine lines cross an uneven, mottled surface. Its angular outline feels a little like a fragment of a river landscape: cool water colours interrupted by pale ledges.
There is a small piece of history in the name, too: the word fluorescence was coined in 1852 from fluorspar, another name for fluorite. Around the centre, thin gold-coloured strands curve into closely spaced loops. Their smooth shine sets off the mottled texture, like sunlit channels winding around a small, rocky island.
