A Little Garden of Fluorite

Pale green, purple and pale pink mingle with nearly colourless beads and very dark tones in this fluorite bracelet. Smooth, glossy rounds catch bright reflections, while cloudy patches and irregular pale lines add detail to some beads. Together, these small variations give the oval loop its own gentle rhythm.

Fluorite has a curious place in the language of light: the word “fluorescence” was coined in 1852 from fluorspar, another name for fluorite.

The colours suggest a terraced botanical garden, with soft green leaves, pink blossoms and purple shadows. Silver-coloured rings punctuate the rounded beads, and a gold-coloured, square-faced accent adds a crisp change of shape—like a tiny gate opening between the terraces.
