Aventurine – candlelight

Aventurine’s Little Green Landscape

Dark and medium greens give this aventurine candlelight piece a rich, mottled character. Pale green, white and cream-coloured speckles mingle with irregular streaks across its low, broad form. The uneven perimeter and angular outer surfaces make a striking contrast with the flatter top and round central opening.

Aventurine takes its name from an Italian expression meaning “by chance,” through the name of glittering aventurine glass. That small connection feels apt for a piece whose colours and markings meet in such an unplanned-looking pattern.

Picture a green island beneath drifting lanterns, its pale markings like winding paths seen from above. Brightly lit outer surfaces frame a deeply shadowed recess with a smoother-looking inner wall—a dark circle held within a rugged green outline.
