Ammonite Fossil’s Warm, Winding Chambers
Amber tones and rust-brown patches give this ammonite fossil a warm, richly varied face. Dark brown and yellow areas sit among white and pale grey, while thin cream-white lines trace the curved divisions between chambers. The eye follows those partitions towards a tight inward spiral, finding smaller turns within the broad, rounded outline.
Bright highlights catch across smooth-looking areas, contrasting with granular cavity edges and clusters of angular white forms. The visible outer edge looks rougher, and a projecting end lends the outline an unexpected little flourish. It is easy to picture a tiny glass labyrinth in these chambers, with warm colours filling its rooms and pale walls winding towards the tightly curled centre.
