Amethyst’s Lavender Terraces
This amethyst has a gently shifting palette: pale lavender opens into deeper purple, interrupted by whitish clouds and occasional darker markings. Glossy surfaces catch bright reflections, while partly translucent areas let light mingle with the colour. Oval and rounded triangular outlines give the amethyst a loose, pebble-like character.
The name amethyst comes from the Greek amethystos, echoing an old belief about sobriety. It gives this softly clouded purple a small connection to the language and symbolism of the past.
A terraced botanical garden makes a fitting imagined world for these colours: lavender paths climbing between deeper violet beds, with pale streaks becoming little flights of steps. At each turn, a bright white reflection catches the eye like a sunlit edge.
