Amethyst, a Garden of Violet Peaks
Purple and violet crown this Amethyst, gathering in uneven clusters of points and angular faces. Bright highlights glance across the tops while shaded sides deepen the contrast. Below, pale grey-white surfaces look comparatively smooth, with rounded lower edges and touches of dark greenish-grey near the base.
Amethyst takes its name from the Greek amethystos, reflecting an old belief about sobriety. That connection adds a thread of human storytelling to its visual character: rich colour above a pale foundation, sharp peaks balanced by softer outlines.
In an imagined terraced garden, those violet tops could become small outcrops among winding paths and leaves. The angular faces suggest a landscape in miniature, with each bright facet opening a different view between the peaks.
