✨ What makes Moqui special?
- They formed from the sandstone itself: iron was removed from grain coatings, transported through groundwater and deposited again where chemical conditions changed.
- A dark shell protects an older landscape: broken or open examples may reveal pale Quartz-rich sandstone, loose grains, layered interiors or hollow space.
- Not every piece is perfectly round: Moqui concretions also develop as buttons, discs, rings, joined pairs, pipes and wonderfully irregular desert forms.
