✨ What makes Sugilite special?
- Its purple develops within a complex structure: manganese, particularly in higher oxidation states, contributes to the saturated violet and magenta colours prized in gem material.
- Its finest surfaces resemble painted landscapes: darker veins, pale matrix, black manganese minerals and translucent purple zones can form clouds, rivers and abstract patterns.
- Its appearance varies widely: material may range from greyish or brownish rock with small purple areas to evenly coloured, translucent “gel” Sugilite.
