Blue with a window of light
Deep and lighter blues mingle across the Sodalite Square Donut pendant, with white to pale grey patches and scattered dark flecks breaking up the colour. The smooth, glossy face catches bright white reflections, especially near the softly rounded edges. Its square outline feels gently softened rather than severe, while the rounded corners of the central opening echo the outer shape.
Sodalite is closely related to lazurite, the blue mineral that gives lapis lazuli its characteristic colour—a lovely connection to discover within these blues. Here, the irregular mottling suggests a miniature cove at dusk: pale water between darker pools, with glints of light along the shore. The open centre gives that imagined landscape an unexpected window, framed by blue and curved inner corners.
