Snowflake Obsidian’s Little Night Garden
The rounded square of this Snowflake Obsidian pendant frames a smaller square opening, giving its dark surface a lovely sense of space. Pale grey, flower-like patches gather across the black in finely patterned clusters, while small bright reflections catch on the smooth face and edges.
Obsidian is volcanic glass. Its glossy black face makes the pale markings especially striking: delicate-looking shapes held within a bold, simple outline.
The pattern suggests a sheltered cove beneath a sky full of stars, with each pale cluster becoming a little gathering of light. Or perhaps it is a night garden, its grey blossoms opening around that clear square at the centre.
