Ruby: Lavender Light, Rugged Edges
Soft-looking lavender-purple meets a rugged outline in this raw ruby. Whitish-grey mottling breaks up the colour, while brown patches gather along the lower side. Bright highlights on the polygonal top contrast with shading across the rougher sides.
Short and chunky, its block-like shape has broad side faces and a roughly polygonal top. Horizontal lines cross the rough, granular sides, tracing a quieter rhythm among the uneven patches and edges.
It could be a tiny headland in an imagined cove, with light along one ridge and shadow across the opposite slope.
