Ruby Fuchsite, a Landscape in Miniature
Green takes the lead in this ruby fuchsite, with pink-to-purple patches bringing lively contrast. Pale cream, tan and brown mottling weave through the colour, while fine speckling adds another layer of detail to the smooth-looking surfaces.
Rounded, irregular outlines give the stones their pebble-like character, with oval and oblong forms among them. Bright reflections catch the upper surfaces.
There is a little imagined archipelago in this mix of colour and shape: green islands, purple coves and pale stretches of shore.
