A little window in rose pink

Pale pink and cloudy white meet across the glossy face of this rose quartz Square Donut pendant. Fine, lighter lines crisscross the surface, adding delicate detail to its simple outline. Rose quartz beads from ancient Mesopotamia have been dated to around 7000 BCE. That glimpse of the material’s early use adds another layer of interest to this pendant: rose quartz shaped for adornment, here with a square opening rather than a bead’s small hole.

The cloudy patches suggest little islands in a pink sea. At their centre, the square opening interrupts the colour—a clear space framed by stone, with gentle outer corners balancing the geometry within.
