Rose Quartz’s Soft Pink Wilderness

Pale pink and cloudy white give this rose quartz a gentle palette, while its jagged edges keep the shape wonderfully untamed. Across the upright piece, whitish lines intersect between angular faces and small ridges, with bright highlights catching the uneven surface.

Rose quartz beads dating to around 7000 BCE have been recorded from ancient Mesopotamia. That small historical detail offers another way to appreciate this rough form: a crystal known in ancient beadwork, encountered here through pale colour and irregular contours.

An imagined luminous cavern takes its colours from this pink and white, turning the narrow, irregular top into a rocky skyline. The real piece has its own balance: a broad, uneven base beneath a silhouette that never settles into a neat point.
