Petrified Wood’s Warm, Wandering Lines
Petrified wood brings together cream, beige and tan with golden-brown and darker brown patches. Reddish-brown streaks thread through this warm palette, gathering into bands or breaking into mottled patterns. The surfaces look smooth and glossy; bright reflections slip over their curves, setting pale gleams against the deeper shades.
The pebble-like forms have an inviting irregularity: oval outlines, rounded rectangles and tapered shapes rather than strict symmetry. In an imagined landscape, those bands could become winding river terraces, with cream-coloured shallows and brown banks drawn close together. Yet the appeal stays in the small details of the petrified wood itself—the way a reddish streak interrupts a pale patch, or a rounded edge catches a sharp glint of light.
