Fluorite Crystal Water Bottle

A Little Fluorite Landscape in Clear Light

The Fluorite Crystal Water Bottle frames a little landscape of colour within its transparent body. Inside, a pointed form has purple and whitish areas, with green gathered near its lower end. Irregular pale streaks cross the mottled colour, offering a textured-looking contrast to the smooth, clear outline around it.

Fluorite also has a place in the language of light: in 1852, the word fluorescence was coined from fluorspar, another name for fluorite. Here, bright white reflections trace the bottle’s body, while sharp highlights and dark reflections alternate across its silver-coloured ends.

A grey loop curves away from the rounded shoulders, its fine repeating pattern adding another small detail to explore. Within this bright frame, the coloured point suggests a miniature purple hillside, with pale paths leading down towards green.
