Flint’s Lantern-Lit Curves
Flint’s colours move from pale beige and grey through brown to nearly black, with contrasting pale patches breaking up several surfaces. The stones have rounded, irregular outlines: some oval, others squat or gently asymmetrical. Bright white reflections catch their curves, giving them a glossy appearance and drawing the eye from one shape to the next.
Look a little closer and fine pale speckles and faint streaks appear on several smooth-looking surfaces. These delicate markings offer a different rhythm from the broader patches of light and dark. In an imagined twilight, those pale patches might become drifting lanterns against a deep brown sky, each irregular outline giving its lantern a slightly different silhouette, each sharp white highlight a tiny flare along the curve.
