Epidote: An Olive-Green Little Landscape
Epidote’s dark olive-green colour has an earthy richness. Grey-brown mottling drifts through the green, while lighter speckles break up the darker areas with tiny points of contrast. The surfaces look smooth and glossy, catching bright white reflections along their curves. Against the shaded patches, those gleams give the stone a lively change of light without overwhelming its earthy palette.
Oval, squat and rounded triangular outlines give the stones a pebble-like character. Their colours invite a small daydream of a river winding through green terraces, with grey-brown banks and pale glints on the water. That imagined landscape finds its rhythm in the mottling: broad dark patches, scattered lighter flecks, and a white reflection following a rounded edge.
